Nanonets alternative: fixed price per invoice, processed in the EU

Nanonets is a flexible AI-agents platform billed per processing step, with customer data stored in the US. When a fixed per-document price and EU processing matter more, compare Invoreg AI.

2026-10-07 · Invoreg

Nanonets started as an OCR API and is now an AI-agents platform for any process that starts with unstructured data. Accounts payable is one of its workflows. It's flexible and it connects to many systems. People compare it with Invoreg AI for two reasons: predictable cost and where the data goes.

Facts are as of 7 October 2026, taken from each vendor's public pages. Sources are listed at the end.

How Nanonets charges

  • Starter: US$100 a month after US$50 of free credits, up to 3 users. Growth and Enterprise are quoted.
  • Per step: every processing step ("block run") is charged at $0.02 for simple steps, $0.10 for standard AI and $0.30 for complex AI.
  • Per invoice: Nanonets' own example of a 4–6 step invoice workflow comes to under $2 per invoice. The actual figure depends on how the workflow is built.

That flexibility is the point of Nanonets. It also means the price of an invoice depends on its workflow.

Where Invoreg AI fits better

  • You need EU data processing. Supplier invoices contain personal data. Nanonets' security policy says customer data is stored in the USA.
  • You want a price you can quote to a client. One credit per document of up to three pages, so 1,200 invoices a year is €460, whatever the workflow.
  • You're an accounting firm running many client companies from one queue, with approvals and role permissions out of the box.
  • You're on Zoho Books.

Where Nanonets is the better choice

  • You process many document types, such as purchase orders, contracts, bills of lading and IDs, and want to build the workflows yourself.
  • You need an ERP connector today, such as NetSuite, SAP or Dynamics, or Xero or QuickBooks.
  • You're a developer embedding document extraction in your own product. Invoreg AI also has an API with a prepaid wallet, but Nanonets covers more document types.

How to decide

Run the same ten invoices through both trials and note two things: the price per invoice you'd actually pay, and where the documents were processed. Book a demo to do it with us.
