AutoEntry, owned by Sage since 2019, is a capable data-capture tool with a long list of integrations. Its pricing is built on credits, and the credit cost depends on what you capture. That's usually where the comparison starts.

How AutoEntry's credits work

AutoEntry sells monthly plans, priced in USD below:

| Plan | Credits a month | Price | |---|---|---| | Bronze | 50 | $13 | | Silver | 100 | $24 | | Gold | 200 | $46 | | Platinum | 500 | $103 | | Diamond | 1,500 | $298 | | Sapphire | 2,500 | $469 |

What each document costs:

| Document | AutoEntry | Invoreg AI | |---|---|---| | Invoice, header only | 1 credit | 1 credit | | Invoice with every line | 2 credits | 1 credit | | Bank or card statement | 3 credits per page | 1 credit per 3 pages | | Unused credits | Roll over up to 90 days | Valid for a 12-month credit year |

Sage published new AutoEntry pricing from 1 September 2025, including a 10% rise on custom packages.

A worked example: 500 invoices a month, all with line items. On AutoEntry that's 1,000 credits a month, which falls on the Diamond plan at US$298 a month. On Invoreg AI it's 6,000 documents a year: one Large and one Medium pack, €2,010 a year, about €168 a month. There's a one-off setup fee from €199 and the first 20 invoices are free. Run your own numbers.

Where Invoreg AI fits better

  • Line items on every invoice without paying double.
  • Bank reconciliation: statements are read line by line and each payment is matched to its invoices, at invoice prices.
  • Approvals at one, two or three levels before anything is booked. We found no supplier-invoice approval step in AutoEntry's documentation.
  • Zoho Books firms: AutoEntry doesn't list Zoho Books. Invoreg AI posts into it natively.
  • Seasonal volume: credits last a year, not 90 days.

Where AutoEntry is the better choice

  • You're on Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or Exact today. AutoEntry integrates with all of them. Invoreg AI posts into Zoho Books today, with Xero and QuickBooks Online planned and an XML/CSV import file for other systems.
  • You need supplier statement reconciliation or staff expense reports with a mobile app.
  • Your volume is small and header-only: 50 simple invoices for US$13 a month is hard to beat.

How to decide

Count last month's documents in three buckets: simple invoices, invoices you coded line by line, and bank-statement pages. Price both tools on that split. Book a demo and bring a sample from each bucket.
