What it's called
PVN reģistrācijas numurs (VAT registration number). PVN is the Latvian name for VAT.
It is LV followed by the 11-digit taxpayer registration code: the Register of Enterprises number for companies, usually the personal code for individuals.
What trips people up
- An individual's VAT number can contain their personal code, so treat it as personal data.
